Food to enjoy
Breakfast, lunch, cake and coffee. Everyday pleasures that give you a reason to pause.
Welcome to Clarabell’s
On Spout Lane in Washington Village, Clarabell’s is a place for homemade food, a proper coffee and a little good company.
This small building has welcomed hungry visitors through several chapters: as a sandwich shop, a family café and an Italian kitchen. Today, owner Clare Graham is making it her own, with a simple ambition: to create somewhere people feel comfortable walking into and happy spending time.
You might pop in for breakfast, settle down over lunch with a friend, or come on your own and find someone to chat with. There’s room for a quiet coffee and a book, too. Friendship here starts with everyday things: a familiar face, a conversation across the table, an invitation to join in.

Room for good company
That welcome reaches upstairs, where clubs, workshops and private celebrations bring people together for all sorts of reasons. From a shared hobby to a special family occasion, the space gives people somewhere to meet and make memories.
A short walk from Washington Old Hall, Clarabell’s is part of village life: a place to pause, enjoy something homemade and feel at home.

Friends, neighbours, new faces. A place where a conversation can begin.
Stay for a chat or a quiet moment. There’s room for both.

From the kitchen to the café
Clare’s homemade food is at the heart of the café. So is the way people feel when they walk through the door.
